Mootoreid 2003.a. ja edaspidiseks
Praegu on sobiv aeg valida järgmise aasta mootoreid:

Tasub uurida:

http://www.steveschmidtracing.com/

http://www.sonnysracingengines.com/

http://www.shafiroff.com

Ja iseenestmõistetavalt

http://www.rehermorrison.com/

Vihjeks, et hetkel on "igamahemootoriks" 555/565 cid ja üle 1000 hj big-block Chevy'd,

ning 632 cid/10.4L on järjest rohkem levinemas, eriti tänaval.

And if you want real engines, there is always

http://www.raybarton.com/catalog.html
http://www.indyheads.com

Actually, for a poor racer there is nos ence in paying for the name in the valve cover. That is what you do buying an engine from Scmidt, Rehermorrison, Barton etc. you can get same or better quality and performing engines from "smaller" names for considerably less money.

Yeah, buying from a big name is also some money for the name, and for some things you really don't need.

But there are no Eagle rods and Scat cranks either! You will get what you pay for, and any anomaly will nullify the initial savings.

And of course there is always - if you want something to be done right - then do it yourself!!

What's wrong with Eagle rods or scat cranks? :)
Best Chinese quality!

Actually, the thing is that if you do not need better parts they'll work just great. Same thing with the cast crank or two bolt block thing; if you don't have over 500 hp (depending of the engine) noones going to care a shit of wether there is two bolt mains or a cast crank, they will do just fine. Eagle and Scat have rated their stuff pretty conservatively for a certain amount of HP, and they'll do great at even a little bigger numbers.

Many Mopar people think they need a forged crank in their street 440's (I guess it's the same thing with Chevy 454's) since it's considered better than the cast. One could ask them, why do they not go with a billet crank, it's considered even better and only cost two to three times as much as an expensive forged crank? How many times people have actually broken a crank? Or rods? I have yet to break a rod (well, there was one because I forgot to tighten the rod bolts !) but I have cut a crank in two pieces. It was a forged; never had problems with cast ones in similar engines.

Just makes me wonder how decent the price of those Scat and eagle parts would be if you could purchase and import them straight from the Chinese foundry.
