Lähim ja sobivaim koht timeslip välja sõita ja tegijate masinatega koos joonele panna. Korraldajad palusid edasi öelda, et Eesti võistlejad on eriti oodatud, tulla võib nii usakaga kui ka mitteusakaga. Rada on seal kahjuks suht. libe aga feeling see eest väga ok.

Muidugi timeslip oleks kena asi küll aga Peep,kui sa korra seal juba käinud oled,on sul äkki meeles kah palju see "just for fun" nii umbjärku kokku maksma läheb? (laev,kütus,söök&elamine,osavõtutasud).Üritusi toimub igalpool aga krt,rahakott ei taha hästi asjale järgi jõuda kahjuks ...
Ja ega mul vist pole tegelt eriti mõtet kah tulla võistlema sinna,kus minu klassi e.siis 2l turboga autod sõidavad alla 10 sek aegu.

Heh, ega sinna mindagi esikohta taga ajama (keep dreaming:)), vaid ikka rohkem tegijaid autosid vaatama, ennast proovile panema ja muljeid koguma + üht-teist tarvilikku õppima. Kulud on roheline kaart, laevapilet ja majutus+osavõtutasu ja misiganes Sa seal veel osta soovid. Tasuta telkimisvõimalus peaks seal ka olemas olema. Söögi võid ju siit kaasa võtta, kui sealset hamburgerit osta ei soovi. Paagitäie bensuga peaks enam-vähem välja tulema, ehk kallist kohalikku bena eriti vaja pole.

Hyvinkää is about 60 km from the Helsinki harbour. It's true the track is not the quickest there is, but in the race classes you still need to run 10's to be able to win, unless something extraordinary happens. However, there is "ET bracket" class where it's all up on to the driver. The car is not that important there, Lauri did pretty well in that class in Kiikala last year.

It's based on the reaction times, the closer above 0.500 seconds the better.

Sinna alla 4 l. klassi pole Sul küll mõtet ennast rekata, seal on vaid spets ettevalmistusega kiirendusautod - tänavasõiduautod sõidavad Streetman'is. Ma isegi arvan, et Su auto ei vastaks võistlusklassi tehn. tingimustele (?).

No ega see minu jutt oligi rohkem nali. Tahtsin juhtida tähelepanu klassidele, mida kasutatakse. Arvan, et minu autoga pole isegi Streetmanis midagi peale naljategemise (veel???) midagi teha.

Streetman klass ei ole mitte võistlemiseks vaid lihtsalt oma auto proovimiseks. Ma pole kindel kas seal üldse mingit eliminaatorit tehaksegi.

Lisan siia väljavõtte ühe korraldaja meilist mulle, ehk see julgustab mõnda kõhklejat ikkagi seda sõitu ette võtma. Ise olen käinud 2x ja mõlemad on olnud viimase peal, seal näeb ühe päevaga rohkem autosid kui meil umbes viie aasta jooksul.

nnc street slide weekend tapahtumassa muutoksia,power-cup jää pois a ja b luokka siirtyvät ssw:n luokiksi,majoitus on mahdollista myös kilpailualueella 14-15.6 välisenä aikana ja ilmainen.

Äkki lähäks omme ommikul soome? Hyvinkääle jõuaks ca k.11 ?

Ja congrats ! Seppo võitis SB klassi ning jyrki sai BB klassis II koha, Luigi Camaro oli esimene.

Here is a short report:

Hyvinkää race was on saturday.
On friday I went to the garage after the work to see if the rockers had arrived; they hadn't. Thought that I would change the valvecover gaskets and check how the reserve rocker sits there, basically checking if everything was okay and then make the decision about going to Hyvinkää later. Well, just before 4 pm my brother brought the rockers that had arrived just in time!

I changed the rockers, adjusted the valves and so on. The reserve rocker had kind of done its job; it was too narrow and the roller tip was pretty way off from the valve tip. However, it was no problem since the rocker pressed the retainer first anyway! And the lash cap was missing, but it was still sitting beside the valvespring, so this time I don't have one more of those "missing lash cap mysteries" The last time this happened I never found it, not even after taking the engine apart two years later.

In the evening we spent some time at Seppolandia.

On saturday morning I washed the car and we drove to Hyvinkää. Didn't see a gas station on the way, so there was pretty little gas left in the tank. There must be a leak somewhere...

It's always interesting to arrive in to these races since you never know forehand what kind of opponents you will have. This time it looked pretty good and I figured I have a good chance for the second place Luigis Camaro being the only car that would propably be quicker than mine.

I run one of the very first qualification runs, the track was very slippery and the result was 11.3/214 kmh. I figured that it would be enough for the second spot; one thing that I found a little confusing was my reaction time, .399 with a sportsman tree. I tried to get a pretty good light with the same method I normally do and it was deep red.

In the last round of qualification Luigi run below 11, so I decided to make an other try. The launch was decent but after the shift I pressed the gas and lost the traction; 11.2/215. In our class D there was 16 cars running. Since there was a 8 car eliminator the battle was pretty hard; there was me and Luigi that was ahead of the pack, but from third to at least tenth they were very close, between 12.3 and 12.7 and the situation changed all the time. Jussis & Ollis "sport coupe" didn't get into eliminator, it was tenth with a 12.7 ET with the mild 440 but it seemed to work well which was the most important thing at this point.

Peep and Lauri was running in the ET Street class, Lauri qualified second and Peep was fourth. For a reason I do not know there was no eliminator in the ET Street. What the organizers told about only two cars willing to drive was not true, Mika wanted to drive too. In the first round it would have been Peep against Lauri, so one of them would have been in the final.

In the eliminator my first round was against a '55 chevy. I was quicker, so I took a secure start and got a relatively easy win. On the second round I was against my old '65 Valiant, the same thing here; just watching the last yellow for a while before leaving. This time I also got the time card and run a 10.95, so we were only 0.1 seconds apart with Luigi. I was a little worried about the reaction times though since even with a slow start I had a reaction time in the 0.6's

In the final rounds we were the last pair, watched a M5/M3 BMW take the A class win, then the marvellous "turbomosse" take the win of the B. In the C final there was a race chevy 2 against Seppos '68 Nova, Seppo was 0.6 seconds behind in the qualification. However, they had problems starting the chevy 2 and Seppo run a solo to the win.

When it was our turn, Luigi had similar problems. The starter already showed me a sign to run a solo but I waited if Luigi could get his engine run. And he did, did our burn outs and staged carefully. I tried to get a good RT and did just like previously when I had succeeded well. This time I saw the red light imediately and even had time to see the number on the scoreboard; a 0.313 red light. shaking my head I run to the end, Luigis car didn't run very well and I was quicker with a 10.92 against his 11.5 but of course Luigi took the win because of my red light. It's nice to learn new things; you should run all the qualification rounds, and you should always run them like you were on a tight eliminator run. Maybe better luck next time.
