Kui võtta põhikonstruktsioonilt sama masin, siis Põrnikas on esimene, Ford T teine, ülejäänud jäävad kaugele tahapoole ja ilmselt igaveseks. |

Just, tegu on enamkasutatud mudelinimede edetabeliga. Ja isegi sel juhul ma ei pea õigeks Põrnika ja New Beetle-i ühte patta panemist. Põrnika ametlik mudelinimi pole iial olnud ei Beetle ega Käfer.

Noh, ega New Beetle seda originaali numbrit vast oluliselt ei mõjuta.
Samas huvitav, Põrnikas ja Ford T on selged, aga mis on kolmas auto seal Peebu nimekirjas? Ma kõhutunde järgi pakuks et Lada 01-07, samas ma neist Fordi truckidest ei tea suurt midagi, et milliseid aastakäike seal võib kokku lüüa termini "põhikonstruktsioonilt sama" alla ja milliseid mitte? Neid igatahes müüakse müstilistes kogustes.

01: VW Beetle (1938-2003)
Production total: 21,529,464
It's no wonder the Beetle has the following it does; it's touched the lives of tens of millions of people around the world and was made in no fewer than 15 factories. The biggest selling car of all time, the Beetle probably won't ever be ousted from the top slot as production cycles are invariably too short nowadays to notch up the phenomenal 21.5 million Bug sales.
02: Ford Model T (1908-1927)
Production total: 15,007,033
Contrary to popular belief, the Model T wasn't the world's first mass-produced car - but it was the world's first to be successful. And what a success it was; priced at a level where relatively ordinary people could buy one, the Tin Lizzie dominated US roads in the second decade of the 20th century. But the car proved a hit in the UK, Europe, South America and Canada too.
03: Lada Riva(klassikut siis ilmselt mõteldud)
Production total: 10,000,000+
This is the sole unverified entry in the top 30, with production figures touted of anything up to 14 million. Whether or not that includes Fiat 124 production is unclear; just over two million of those were built. It's likely that the Lada should be in the top 10, but how far up is anybody's guess. And sadly that's probably all it can be, as reliable figures are very hard to find.
04: Fiat Uno (1983-present)
Production total: 9,515,945
Believe it or not, even though the Uno bowed out of the UK market as long ago as 1994, it's still in production in South America. That only makes the 9.5 million production tally even more impressive, as it's increasing with each passing year. However, while it won the 1984 European Car of the Year, it's unlikely it would score too many points nowadays.
05: Renault 4 (1961-1994)
Production total: 8,135,424
A car that celebrates its 50th birthday in 2011, the Renault 4 has largely been forgotten in the UK, yet it's the fifth best-selling car of all time. Renault's first front-wheel-drive car, the 4 was built in no fewer than 27 countries as well as France. Oddities include factory-built convertibles, 4x4s and vans, while the model even had its own one-make race series between 1974 and 1984.
06: VW Golf Mk1 (1974-2009)
Production total: 6,986,458
While most markets got the first-generation Golf only up until 1983, South African buyers could purchase a new example right the way up to 2009, as it was produced there. Along the way it was also built in South America as well as North America; cars built in the latter factory emerged wearing Rabbit badges. We'd still love a Mk1 Golf - an early GTi please, just like it left the factory.
07: Peugeot 206 (1998-present)
Production total: 6,848,214
A somewhat belated successor to the 205, the 206 never captured the imagination like its cheeky 1980s predecessor - but it did outsell it. And as the 206 is still being built in Iran, that tally will only get ever larger. When available to UK buyers, the 206 was built in Coventry and France, while it's also been built in South America, China, Indonesia and Malaysia.
08: VW Golf Mk2 (1983-1992)
Production total: 6,301,000
Volkswagen may have built well over six million examples of the second-generation Golf, but it's not the best-selling version of the German outfit's evergreen small family hatch. Produced in Eastern and Western Europe, South America, South Africa and North America, it's no wonder this is one of the all-time biggest sellers.
09: VW Passat Mk2 (1989-2009)
Production total: 5,473,000
Volkswagen's most successful Passat of all, the second-generation edition was in production right the way through to 2009, thanks to demand in China. For a car that was first seen in 1981, that's pretty good going. Along the way the car was also built in Spain, South America, South Africa, Japan and of course in Germany too.
10: Mini (1959-2000)
Production total: 5,387,862
One of those cars that needs no introduction, but we'll give you one anyway. The first classless car, the Mini was brilliantly packaged, superb to drive, amazingly comfortable and adept in competition, whether it was rallying, sprinting or circuit racing. Now BMW is trying to repeat the trick with its own Mini, but it's unlikely that any generation of the German will reach nearly 5.4 million. |

Nojah see nimekiri on kindlasti asjalikum kui see esimene, samas veidi eurotsentriline. Ilmselt keegi ei vaidle vastu kui ma väidan, et 1gen Mustang on "põhikonstruktsioonilt sama" mudel, mis siis et ta vist pea iga aasta muutus. Ja isegi seda müüdi 9 aastaga 1,5 miljonit, raske uskuda et see nüüd ongi lagi ja neid trucke ei müüdud rohkem.

Viimast tabelit vaadates tundub moraalse võitjana VW Golf, kahe mudeliga tabelis olla ja seda kaasajal ning vabaturu keskkonnas on kahtlemata saavutus. |

No kui nii võtta siis Impala oli ka 8'nda generatsioonini(kui esivedu mängu tuli) küllalt sama labase konstruktsiooniga  . Disain lihtsalt muutus enam vähem iga aasta ning mootorivalik laienes. Noh okei 65'ndal aastal kadus x-kujuline raam ka, edasi pandi mitu aastakümmend suht sarnase põhimõttega. |
