PAS Inc built a total of 4697 Typhoons: 2497 for 1992 and another 2200 for 1993. That seemed like a success compared to the sales of the Syclone and Sonoma GT, but could have been better.

Kelly explained:
"When we did the Typhoons in 92, we got halfway through the model year and they still weren't selling. So we ended up making our own posters and doing our own marketing blitz. So for 93, which was the last year of that body style, we were going to build 3,000 for that year, and we actually had orders for 4500. However, GM got suedd for the Chevy 454 SS, they promised they were only going to make so many for the collectors, and they made so many more thousands of them and they got sued by the people that bought them thinking they were getting a limited-production vehicle. GM lost. So GM said "Absolutely not. You cannot build the other 1500"."

So why not carry the Typhoon over into the 1994 model year?
"We could not build them for 94 because GM went to a new body style and they went to the CPI engine and we would have to revalidate the engine all over again for emissions. GM did not sign up for that in time and we could not have met the model year."

Hinnad on tavaliselt põhjusega sellised nagu nad on. Reeglina tahavad need "palju odavamad" kohe päris kõvasti parandamist + ülevärvimist saada. Sellistele autodele pole originaalosi enam saada ning aftermarket on kah tagasihoidlik. Sellises olukorras kajastub originaalilähedus, kõikide sõlmede toimimine ja komplektsus tugevalt hinnas, sest taastamine on keeruline ja kallis (eriti kui on soov originaalilähedust tagada). Kui oleks keskmisest tugevam pikaajaline tõmme originaalkorras "matching numbers" Syclone vastu, siis see 50k isend on kindlasti way to go. Jube mõnus on autoga ka lihtsalt sõita ja nautida, mitte kogu aeg selle all/vahel olla ja mööda ilma originaaljuppe taga ajada.

Juba üle aasta on ootanud paigaldamist uued ja popid Dakota Digital VHX-1100 näidikud ja nüüd lõpuks võtsin asja käsile.
Ise kartsin, et see on terve nädala töö aga tegelikult läks vaid pool päeva, kuni kõik enamvähem paika sai. Seega tõesti päris plug-n-play! ;)
Visuaalne pool tahaks veel viimistleda ja õlirõhuandur ning veetempi andur kalibreerimist aga kuna mõlemad signaalid on mul ka eraldi läbi aju näha, siis see pole nii kriitiline. Pigem jälle visuaalne pool.

Kuna Corvette Sawblade veljed osteti ära ja liikusid edasi (või õigem oleks öelda "tagasi", kuna lähevad taas ühe Corvette alla), siis võtsin vahelduseks midagi modernsemat.
Algul olin kahevahel, kas ikka on see mis soovisin aga nüüd mida rohkem vaatan, seda rohkem meeldivad! :)

Hea info, panen kõrvataha. Vahel on ikka vaja....
Typhoonile on praegu vaja pigem midagi 5-10mm, peab lihtsalt tooma ja proovima. 1" ja 1.5" on mul omal ka olemas talverehvide jaoks.

Mulle meeldib sealt see eelmine lõik - mis tundub iseloomustavat ideaalselt selle autoga sõitmist. Vahet pole KUHU sellega minna, alati on kohustuslik vastata küsimustele: mis, kuidas ja kui palju! Esimene sellelaadne küsimustevoor oli kohe peale ostu Rootsi esimeses bensukas ja viimane alles eile õhtul. Seega Eesti mõttes see sleeper selles otses mõttes pole, et paistab silma ja tekitab kõneainet palju.

Jumala õiged tähelepanekud ju. Enamik kui mitte öelda 98% selle ajastu "džiipidest" on tänaseks ilged kapsad kuna ei oma endas erilist väärtust (maasturimehed ärge nüüd kambakat tehke ja liigselt südamesse võtke). Anryo apastraat peaks seisma kuskil muuseumis, sest ma ei ole küll kuskil teist nii korras selle ajastu autut näinud.
